Krásně napsaný zajímavý příběh. Když se ale ohlédnu zpátky, tak mi závěr knihy přišel takový o ničem.

Neopouštěj mě je dystopický román z pera držitele Nobelovy ceny za literaturu a zároveň mé první setkání s autorem. Hned na začátek chci zdůraznit, že Kazuo Ishiguro je mistr vypravěč, který stylem sobě vlastním dokáže zachytit intenzivní hloubku skutečných emocí. Jeho styl je poměrně jednoduchý, ale se schopností rozpoutat symfonii nejrozporuplnějších pocitů. Nechci spoilerovat, proto jen napíši, že se jedná o ironický příběh tří přátel.. Kathy, Ruth a Tommyho, mezi nimiž se vytvoří blízké, ale komplikované přátelství. Autor velice chytrým způsobem splétá osudy všech zúčastněných, udržuje záhadu ohledně mikrospolečnosti studentů v Hailshamu, a ve světle odhalení čtenář zjistí, že ona záhada paradoxně nebyla tím, na čem opravdu záleží. Kazuo Ishiguro zároveň zkoumá, co znamená opravdu žít a předkládá pár otázek k zamyšlení. Co se stane, když vědu přestane provázet etika? Co je určujícím rysem lidstva? Kolik z nás je formováno výchovou? Jaký vliv má na člověka vševědoucí vzdělávací systém? Co znamená, být člověkem?.. a mnoho dalšího. Neopouštěj mě ( v originále Never let me go) je hořkosladký příběh z pohledu prosté ženy, dotýkající se složitosti a absurdity lidské existence.

Velmi intenzivní kniha, od začátku vás vtáhne a nepustí, protože pomalu buduje napětí. Doslova kolem vás omotá smyčku a vy chcete za každou cenu vědět, co je na jejím konci. Nedalo se od ní odtrhnout a proputovala celým patrem mezi kolegy v práci.
